From Randy:
"Looking to make a car with minimal wood and the weight focused at one location, such as the Car Described Here? This Domed Adjustable Tungsten Round allows the placement of the ballast weight at the desired point, and allows nearly 1/2 ounce of weight flexibility. The weight can be adjusted by adding one or two tungsten cubes (included), and/or tungsten putty as needed to adjust the weight. Just make sure to use epoxy to hold the cubes in place."
How to Use this Product
A Domed Adjustable Tungsten Round can be easily used for pinewood derby car weighting if the weight of the car body, wheels, and axles is less than 1.35 ounces. Drill a 1-1/16 inch diameter hole into the bottom of the block. Then cut out the car. After painting, epoxy the round into the hole with the domed extending above the top of the car. Then, after the car is finished, add one or two tungsten cubes, and/or some tungsten putty as needed to fine tune the weight of the car.
