Epoxy Advesive for Pinewood Derby Cars






Epoxy is an excellent adhesive for gluing metal or plastic to wood, so it is the preferred adhesive for attaching weight (and accessories) onto pinewood derby cars.

Important Notes

1. This name brand adhesive is quick setting, so it will set up in 4-6 minutes. If you are doing a project that requires a longer dry time, then use an epoxy with a longer dry time.



2. Epoxy is virtually permanent. Do not use this adhesive if you intend to later disassemble your car.

Usage Tips

To use the product, follow the manufacturers recommendation on the package, but here are a few suggestions from our experience:

• Dispense a small amount of epoxy onto a scrap piece of cardboard.


• Wipe off the tips of the syringes after dispensing, pull back on the syringes to draw in some air, and cover the tips with the cap.


• Quickly blend the two parts of the epoxy together. Flat toothpicks make a nice tool for mixing and for applying the adhesive.


• Once the material becomes 'stringy' (think of cheese on a pizza), discard the remaining product, and dispense and mix some more adhesive.


• Store the package with the syringe tips facing upwards.
